Also known as New Ridgewood Grove Arena, the building, with a capacity of 4,000 to 5,000, was located 341-343 St. Nicholas Avenue, Queens, on the northeast corner of St. Nicholas Avenue and Palmetto Street on the Brooklyn-Queens border (That's why it is commonly said to have been in Brooklyn).

The wrestling cards took place almost on a weekly basis between the late 1920's and early 1950's. Rudy Miller was the promoter for boxing and wrestling at the venue, and the Toots Mondt would later provide the talents to the arena through his Manhattan Wrestling Enterprises.

The first known card at the venue:

10/02/1893 - Ridgewood, NY - Benner's Ridgewood Grove
Brooklyn & Long Island Graeco-Roman Titles (for $250): Nick Drescher drew Henry Lawrence
Graeco-Roman: Charles Raff (dec) George Carrow
Graeco-Roman: Dud Maloney drew Jack Costello
plus sparring matches

After hosting high-quality boxing and wrestling events for 30 years, the venue was converted into a supermarket in 1956.
