Irving Hall was located at Irving Place and East 15th Street. In the mid-1880s, the building featured the grapplers such as William Muldoon, Edwin Bibby, and Duncan C. Ross. It is also where Sorakichi Matsuda, the first ever Japanese pro-wrestler, had his first match, losing to Bibby on 01/14/1884. It became the 2500-seat Amberg Theatre in 1888 and the Irving Place Theatre in 1893. |
